Gliders conquer the world

After World War One all kinds of flying activities are banned in Germany. Not before 1919 glider flying can take place again. Only a couple of years later Germany is the leading country in this field. Even today 90 % of all high-performance gliders are produced in Germany. This museum dedicates a special area to this subject. Texts, pictures  and dioramas show the development of this magnificent sport. Already in 1939 pilots carried out long distance flights with more than 750 km (470 miles). Nowadays top pilots accomplish distances of 2000 km. Gliders like the training  glider SG 38 and the „Grunau Baby“ are also on display.
