Today we remind you of the engineer and aviation pioneer Otto Lilienthal, born on May 23, 1848 in Anklam (Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania)
In no small part thanks to him the ancient human dream of flying like a bird became a reality.

He suffered a fatal accident on August 9, 1896 in Stölln during a test flight. It deserves a permanent place in the long history of aviation.
With his book, "Bird flight as the basis of the art of flying", he created the basis that is still valid today.
