The central subject of the museum is the presentation of the history of aviation.

The exhibition starts with a display of the first ascent of a hot air balloon, accomplished by the Brothers Montgolfier in 1783.

Civil aviation is on display in Hall 1. With the beginning of World War I aviation lost its carefreeness. The development and the events of aerial warfare up to the treaty of Versailles are shown in this hall.

The second hall depicts those subsequent twenty years of peace and leads to the exhibition of World War II air war.

The era after the war was characterized by the so called Cold War. In this period civil aviation gained new significance.

The presentation of aviation is completed ba a collection of cockpit instruments, e.g. altimeters, vertical speed indicators, NAV and COM instruments etc..
