You can explore the history of aviation by browsing through more than 4,500 objects on display, located on 3,500 sqm of exhibition space, both indoors and in the open air. There is a lot to discover. The museum has

In addition to the planes you can also marvel at pilots' clothings, books, documents, carriages, vehicles and general every day commodities.

The objects are arranged in a chronological order with information in both German and English, allowing guests to easily explore the history of aviationat at their own leisure.

In addition to the numerous civil objects on display we also have several military aircraft, which will be the highlight of your visit. 

An original Royal Air Force Spitfire is the only exemplar in a German museum 

The only surviving Messerschmitt Bf 109 G-2

The first Focke-Wulf Fw 190 A-8 displayed in Germany after the end of World War II.

Besides these objects we have a number of other attractions, like the story of the recovery of four JU 52s at the Arctic Circle in the summer of 1986. A photographic display depicts the retrievel of numerous Focke-Wulf 190 A-8s and our latest aquisition, a General-Electric CF6-50 Jumbo engine.
